Given :  1. The line passes the points (-6,2) and (3,-5).

2. The line passes the points (3,-4) with a slope of 3

3. A line that has a slope of 2 and a y— intercept of 3/2.

4. A line passing through (3,0) and (0,-2)

5. The line with a slope of 1/2. passes the point (3,1)

To Find:  Equation of the line

Solution:

y = mx + c

m = slope , c = y intercept

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

1. The line passes the points (-6,2) and (3,-5).

m = (-5 - 2)/(3 - (-6)) = -7/9

y  - 2 = (-7/9)(x - (-6))

=> 9y - 18  = -7x  - 42

=> 7x + 9y  + 24  =  0

2. The line passes the points (3,-4) with a slope of 3

y - (-4) = 3(x - 3)

=> y + 4 = 3x - 9

=> y = 3x  - 13

3. A line that has a slope of 2 and a y— intercept of 3/2.

y = 2x + 3/2

=> 2y = 4x  + 3

4. A line passing through (3,0) and (0,-2)

slope =  2/3

y  - 0  = ( 2/3)(x - 3)

=> 3y =   2x -  6

=> 2x - 3y  = 6

5. The line with a slope of 1/2. passes the point (3,1)

y - 1  = (1/2)(x - 3)

=> 2y - 2 = x - 3

=> x - 2y  = 1
