  •       Taking g = 10 m/s
  •      38 = u^2 (1 – cos^2 x) / 2 x 10
  •       38 = u^2 – u^2 cos^2 x / 20
  •       38 = u^2 – (32)^2 / 20 (since horizontal velocity u cos x = 32 m / s
  •       38 = u^2 – 1024 / 20
  •        760 =  u^2 – 1024
  •            u^2 = 1784
  •            u = 42.23 m/s
  • Therefore the initial velocity is 42.23 m/s
