Answer:

Total distance covered by both hands in 3 days is 4333.44 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Length of the minute hand of a clock = 9 cm

Length of the hour hand of clock = 7 cm

To find: Total distance covered by both hands in 3 days.

We know that,

In a day hour hand take 2 round.

⇒ In 3 Days, it take 6 rounds.

In a day minute hand take 24 round.

⇒ In 3 Days, it take 72 rounds.

Distance covered by hour hand in a round = circumference of the circle

                                                                         = 2 × π × 7

                                                                         = 2 × 22/7 × 7

                                                                         = 2 × 22

                                                                         = 44 cm

Distance covered by minute hand in a round = circumference of the circle

                                                                             = 2 × π × 9

                                                                             = 2 × 3.14 × 9

                                                                             = 56.52 cm

Distance covered by hour hand in 3 days = 6 × 44 = 264 cm

Distance covered by minute hand in 3 days = 72 × 56.52 = 4069.44  cm

Total distance = 264 + 4069.44 = 4333.44  cm

Therefore, Total distance covered by both hands in 3 days is 4333.44 cm
