Answer
Length = 20 cm
Breadth = 15 cm
Given
The perimeter of a rectangle is 70 cm. if its length exceeds its breadth by 5 cm
To Find
Dimensions of the rectangle
Formula Used
Solution
Let the length of the rectangle be " l "
Breadth of the rectangle be " b "
A/c , " if its length exceeds its breadth by 5 cm "
⇒ l = b + 5 ... (1)
Given , Perimeter of the rectangle = 70 cm
⇒ 2 ( l + b ) = 70
⇒ l + b = 35
⇒ ( b + 5 ) + b = 35 [ From (1) ]
⇒ 2b = 35 - 5
⇒ 2b = 30
⇒ b = 15 cm
On sub. b value in (1) , we get ,
⇒ l = (15) + 5
⇒ l = 20 cm

Dimension :
A measurable extent such as length , breadth , height , width , thinkness .... etc.
Measurement of length in one direction is called 1-D .
In two directions it is called 2-D ,.... etc.
Step-by-step explanation:
- The perimeter of the rectangle = 70cm
- The length exceeds its breadth by 5cm
- The dimensions of the rectangle
- Here dimensions in the sense length and breadth of the rectangle.
According to the given question:-
Let the breadth of the rectangle be x
Length of the rectangle = 5 + x
As we know that:-
Perimeter of the rectangle is given by the formula 2(l + b)
Given , perimeter = 70cm
So:-
Therefore:-
Breadth of rectangle = x = 15cm
Length of rectangle = x + 5 = 15 + 5 = 20cm
