Answer:

1.Let the breadth be 'x'

Length = 2 + 2x

Now perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)

2(l + b) = 154

2 ( 2 + 2x + x) = 154

2 ( 2 + 3x) = 154

2 + 3x = 77

3x = 75

x = 25 m

Required breadth = 25 m

Length = 2 + 2 x 25 = 52 m

2.If we subtract 1/2 from a number and multiply the result by 1/2, we get 1/8. Therefore 3/4 is the number from which if we subtract 1/2 from a number and multiply the result by 1/2, we get 1/8.

Answer:

Let the breadth=x m

Length of pool is 2m more than twice its breath

So length =(2x +2) m

The perimeter of swimming pool is 154m

2(l+b)=154

l+b=154/2

(2x+2)+x=77

3x=77–2

3x=75

x=75/3

x=25

So the breadth of pool is 25m

Length of pool is 2(25)+2=50+2=52m
