→ 24 = 2(4 + b)

→ 24 = 2 * 4 + 2 * b

→ 24 = 8 + 2 * b

→ 24 = 8 + 2b

→ 24 - 8 = 2b

→ 16 = 2b

→ 2b = 16

Hence, the breadth of the rectangle is 8 cm.
