• The Allahabad Pillar which is also known as The Prayaga Prashasti is a stambha that was either built by the great Ashoka, the emperor of the Maurya dynasty who ruled in the third century BCE, or it may have been created earlier than that. It contains one of Ashoka's pillar edicts.
