Solution:

Since the ratio of the present ages of three of them is given as 2:7:11, so, we have

"2x" years → Sailaja's age

"7x" years → Satya's age

"11x" years → Sravani's age

After 6 years,

Sailaja's age = 2x + 6

Satya's age = 7x + 6

Sravani's age = 11x + 6

Also, the sum of their ages after 6 years is 68, so we can form an equation as,

[2x + 6] + [7x + 6] + [11x + 6] = 68

⇒ [2x + 7x + 11x] + [3 × 6] = 68

⇒ 20x + 18 = 68

⇒ 20x = 50

⇒ x = 2.5 years

∴ 2x = 2 × 2.5 = 5 years ← Sailaja's present age

7x = 7 × 2.5 = 17.5 years ← Satya's present age

11x = 11 × 2.5 = 27.5 years ← Sravani's present age

∴ Sailaja's age 2 years ago was = 2x - 2 = 5 - 2 = 3 years

Thus, the age of Sailaja 2 years ago was 3 years old.
