1.   72 km in 4 h

Thus speed is 72/4 =18kmph

3x=18

X=6... 4x=speed of first train =24kmph

Thus distance travelled by it in 3 hours is...

24x3= 72 km

2.    Total no. of students = 135

Ratio of boys to girls = 4:5

Therefore no. of boys be 4x & no. of girls be 5x

We know 4x+5x = 135

9x = 135

x = 135/9 = 15

Therefore no. of boys is 60 & no. of girls is 75

If 15 more boys are admitted,

No. of boys = 75

Therefore new ratio = 75/75

= 1:1
