Indian History :

India is the country that not only gave birth to the religions such as Hindu, Buddhism, Jain, Sikh but also let these religions assimilated into its culture peacefully. External religions such as Islam, Christianity and Parsi also mixed with Indian religions. Values such as tolerance towards other’s thoughts and beliefs that is routed in our history, culture and traditions helped nurturing of the religious diversity.

Indian Geography:

India’s vast expanse and its location tropic of cancer blessed it with various agro climatic zones. Cold northern hilly regions in Jammu Kashmir, Himalaya and Uttarakhand, Hot Western deserts in Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujrat, Moderate Gangetic plains and central highlands, tropical climates of coastal southern states and pristine natural beauty of eastern Himalayan ranges of North Eastern states makes India Geographically diverse country. Seasonality of the Monsoon don’t lets boredom of climatic stagnation. This Geographic diversity further brings agriculture diversity, food diversity, clothing diversity and also cultural diversity.

Indian Polity:

Polity plays important role in nurturing natural and social diversity of the country. Political intolerance towards diversity borne out of majoritarianism results into destruction of minority communities residing in the country and hence is detrimental to the diversity of the country. Since Ancient vedic civilisations to medieval kings and then democratic leaders of the free India were and are tolerant to the concerns of minorities. Leaders like Gandhi, Nehru, Ambedkar made it sure that voices of the minority should not be calmed due to majoritarianism.
