The main function of the Opposition is to scrutinise the operations of the executive and to ensure that it carries out the governance of the country in a fair and judicious manner. It is the duty of the Opposition to make a sound contribution towards the efficient running of the country by being alert to the functioning of the government and to represent the best of interest of the people. A strong Opposition is the sign of a healthy democracy.
