As per given data,

x+y=4980.............(1)

13x=17y

y=\frac{13x}{17}...........(2)

using (2) in (1)

x+\frac{13x}{17}=4980

\frac{30x}{17}=4980

x=166*17

x=2822

put x=2822 in (1) we get

y=4980-2822

y=2158

\thereforeThe required numbers are 2822 and 2158

2.

\frac{2x}{3x+1}=-3

2x=-3(3x+1)

2x=-9x-3

2x+9x=-3

11x=-3

x=\frac{-3}{11}

Solution is x=\frac{-3}{11}
