Question :-- Change the voice ...

Points :--

There are two basic rules for converting sentences from Active Voice into Passive Voice, which are common for all tenses :---

1) The places of subject and object will be interchanged in the sentence.

Active voice :- Sub. + have/has + P.P.form of verb + obj.

Passive voice:- Sub.(obj.) + have been/has been + P.P. form of verb + prepositional by + obj.(Sub.)

2) Only 3rd form of the verb or Past Participle (e.g. written) will be used as a main verb in Passive Voice.

Answer :---

Active :- 1)The wind blew down the trees.

Passive :- The trees were blown down by the wind...

→ Active :- 2) The police caught the thieves.

→ Passive :- The thieves were caught by the police.

→ Active :- 3) Alice posted the letter.

→ Passive :- The letter was posted by Alice.

→ Active :- 4) The hostess received us.

→ Passive :- We were received by the hostess.

→ Active :- 5) somebody killed the snake with a stick.

→ Passive :- The snake was killed with a stick (by somebody).
