1.There are three Rods A,B,C of equal length L at same temperature .There coefficient of linear
expansion are αa, αb, αr respectively. if the temperature of all rod are increased by θ ° C and
coefficient of linear expansion is like αb>αa >αc. then what will be the final order of length of
rod?
a. Lc>Lb>Lc
b. Lb= La= Lc
c. La>Lb>Lc
d. Lb>La>L

The final order of the length of rod will be  L_{B} > L_{A} > L_{C}

The initial length of the three rods, A, B, C are equal = L

The temperature of all the three rods is increased by θ° C

If the coefficient of linear expansion is α

Then, the increased length, l = αLθ

As, \alpha_{B} > \alpha_{A} > \alpha_{C},

So, the order of the increased length will be

l_{B} > l_{A} > l_{C} [L and θ are same for all]

So, the order of final length (L+l) will be

L_{B} > L_{A} > L_{C}
