The following points may help you:

a. One of the importnat dimensions of a democrcay is social equality.

b. Social equality implies no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or sex.

c. This ensures freedom from injustice being meted out to for example, lower caste group.

d. This form of equality aims at allowing individuals to lead a dignified life.

e. In Independent India.,even though our Constitution has established principles of equality by means of rights and equal opportunities, these principles have not been wholly implemented in reality. A lot needs to done to make these rights and principles a reality. For example, even though law does not discriminate anybody on the basis of caste so there is political equality ,but people belonging to lower caste are still socially discriminated and are treated unequally .

f. It implies end of caste based prejudices where despite legal and political mechanisms to protect the lower caste, they continue to face discrimination. For them attaining equality is a continuous struggle.

g Lower caste become target of the attitude of the upper caste, banning their entry into Brahminical dominant temples. Dalits continue to remain most vulnerable.

h. Real democracy can only be attained if there exist social equality, when the most vulnerable are able to lead a quality life.
