  • Beam your flashlight at the CD if it's a cloudy day.
  • Hold your white piece of paper so that the light reflected off the CD shines on it.
  • On your paper, the reflected light will create beautiful rainbow colours.
  • When looking at the surface of a CD,  rainbow patterns are particularly prevalent. The constructive and destructive interference of the light hitting the film creates all three of these effects.
