1.     Two rods: A and B, having same weight and equal length have different thickness. Rod A is thinner while Rod B is thicker. They are held vertically on the surface of sand. Which one of them will sink more? Why

Required Answer :-

Rod A will sink more than Rod B

Let's see why

Mass of Rod A = Mass of Rod B

Length of Rod A = Length of Rod B

Thickness of Rod A < Thickness of Rod B

This is because the Area occupied by rod B is greater than the area of Rod A But,

Rod A will have more pressure. Due to pressure the Rod A will sink more than Rod B

\\Since,

Area is inversely proportion to Pressure
