Step-by-step explanation:

sides of triangular field are 112m and 50m

Base of triangle is 78m

According to heron formula, area of triangle = √[s (s – a)(s – b)(s – c)],

And s= semi perimeter

then, s= (112+50+78)m/2

         s=(240/2)m

          s= 120m

area of triangle is √[120(120-112)(120-50)(120-78)]m^2

                               √[120 x 8 x 70 x 42]m^2

                               √(2822400 )m^2

                                1680m^2

area of triangle is 1680m^2

that means 1/2 x b x h = 1680m^2

                    1/2 x 78m x h = 1680m^2

                    39m x h = 1680m^2

                       h= 1680m^2/39m

                       h = approx 44m

the height of the altitude on the side of 78 m is 43.0769230769 m
