1. Two wires are made of the same material and have
the same volume. Area of cross-section of one wire
is A and other wire is 3A. If wire of cross-section
area A is stretched by force F then force on
another wire for same extension is

Answer:

Explanation:

Since the two wires have same volume.

Length of wire 1 =l

Length of wire 2 =l/3

Area of wire 1 =A

Area of wire 2 =3A

wire 1:

Y=F/A*Δx/l---------(1)

wire 2:

Y=F′/A*Δx/l/3-------------(2)

from (1) and (2)

F/A×l/Δx=F1/3A×l/3Δx

F1=9F

Hence 4 is the correct answer.
