The formula is mirror formula in which
V = image distance
U = object distance
F = focal length of the mirror
If mirror is convex,
V = +ve
F = +ve
U = -ve
If mirror is concave,
V = +ve or -ve (According to the the type of the image)
U = -ve
F =-ve
1/f = 1/v + 1/u
1/f = v+u/vu
f(v+u) = vu
