The gene from the bacteria kills the pest like moths, beetles, flies that feed on the cotton crop. However, there are few disadvantages associated with it. The poor farmers could not afford Bt cotton seeds as of their very high cost (expensive) as compared to non-genetically modified, normal seeds.11-Jun-2017
