1. We call our country our motherland. We have for it the same feelings as we have for our
mother. We have towards it the same duties as we have towards our mother. Think of one way how you will serve your motherland when you grow up. Write a letter to one of your friend and share your feelings through it in 100-120 words.

Answer:

An individual can serve his/her nation in many ways, and we Indians have even more scope in this area as ours is a democratic developing country. I would like to share some actions which i am getting in mind right now, which would help you in this regard:

1. Maintain Cleanliness: Not just in your home or office but also on roads and any pother public area. You can also take the opportunity to enlighten others in this regard when you see them violating some general etiquette.

2. Adopt a Child: I know this ia way too much i am expecting from anybody and far too much as a second point for you answer and i myself would be able to follow this or not is still a big question for me; but imagine, if all the families of our country stating from the middle class would try to help one child, how would be the future of this country?

3. Follow traffic rules: You can avoid accidents which will help the country in many direct and indirect ways. Teach everybody in your vicinity about this.

4. Don`t take bribe: I know its hard in our country "in certain cases" to avoid giving bribe cause they don`t leave you with an option and there has to be many steps forward by the govt as well as by the citizens to curb this problem, but atleast you can avoid asking for it. if everyone follows this, no one would be left to ask for bribe as well.

5. Take Your Job Seriously: This is especially for govt. servants. Instead of blaming govt or any one, first make sure whether you complete the task given to you in time. This would help the country as a whole a lot. But our govt servants prefer enjoying govt`s money, which in no way is wrong, provided, you deliver.

6. Save Electricity Save Water Save Fuel: Yes, you are not just saving non-renewable sources, but also doing a service to the nation. One important thing which i have noticed is, there are people who prefer car for going to nearby market a km or so away just to take a kg of veg! why not cycle, which would be the best or atleast a bike which can avoid traffic. Bicycle is my favorite as it saves fuel and also gives your body an exercise. Its well utilized in many countries but in India its a matter of pride to use cars and bullets. I agree for long distance its uneasy and i don`t even suggest for it, but for 1-2 kms its a boom.

7. Help: Help any needy around you, rather than waiting for anyone else to do so, cause you know, everybody is waiting for the same. Helping others does`nt mean you leave your work and sit with them, but surely you can give a small part of your time. Help a blind in crossing a road, help a beggar with a samosa one day, help a person who met an accident, give you bus seat to an old, help a girl when you see her being harassed, etc. Remember, you attitude defines the Nation`s attitude and gives a long lasting impact.

8. Don`t keep Silence: True Keep Silence works, but not everywhere. When you think or feel anything wrong going on around you, never keep silence, oppose or atleast inform the concerned.

9. Join Indian Army/Navy/Defense/Politics: If you want to serve the country directly hen the simple answer is to join the country defense directly or enter into politics and clean it. How many of us had/have this aim? Not me! Why? Those who don`t get anything else joins army nowadays and the gundas and illiterates join politics. This was not the case earlier. For Indian Independence people joined the war at their own will. They left their lucrative jobs and served the Nation. How many of us always wanted to enter into Politics? We have to start to change our mindset.

These are a few to mention, but would surely give you a clue for other steps too. One more thing, Do I have the courage to follow these actions? Probably no. It`s easier to give answers than to follow it ourselves. Yah, I need to change, we need to change, if we really want to serve our country....

Answer:

This is our sacred land, Bharat, a land whose glories are sung by the gods-

(The men born in the land of Bharat, the gateway to heavens and salvation, are more blessed than the gods themselves-so sing the gods.)

-a land visualised by Mahayogi Aurobindo as the living manifestation of the Divine Mother of the universe, the Jaganmata, the Adishakti, the Mahamaya and the Mahadurga, Who has assumed concrete form to enable us to see Her and worship Her,

-a land eulogised by our philosopher-poet Rabindranath Tagore as:

The enchanting Goddess of the world………….. Her feet washed by the blue waters of the oceans),

-a land saluted by the inspired poet of freedom, Bankim Chandra, in his immortal song Vande Mataram, which spurred thousands of young hearts to cheerfully ascend the gallows in the cause of her liberty, as

(Thou art the Great Destroyer armed with ten weapons),

-a land worshipped by all our seers and sages as Matrubhoomi, Dharmabhoomi, Karmabhoomi and punyabhoomi, a veritable Devabhoomi and Mokshabhoomi,

-a land which has been to us since hoary times the beloved and sacred Bharat Mata whose very name floods our hearts with waves of pure and sublime devotion to her,

-well, this is the mother of us all, our glorious motherland.
