Answer:

Yes, there are certainly many parents like Mrs Pumphrey who have a tendency of overdoing things. Some parents are over lenient and generous and shower their children with useless stuff and even do anything their children want. This spoils the child to such an extreme level that it leads to the development of a mind-set that they can get or do anything they want, or else, they will throw a tantrum. This destroys the child’s future as he/she might not be able to cope with failures and loses when it will occur. It will dampen their characters definitely too. Thus, such parents unknowingly create a fictional world for their children where they get everything and the children even live by it. However, on the otherhand, some parents become over strict and over restricting too. In such situations, children not only feel suffocated, being trapped inside their parents confined barriers, but also, transform into shadows of their parents. This affects the child’s future as he doesn’t have any confidence to stand up to others and fight for their own rights. Such parents don't allow children to see how competitive the outer, real world is. So I conclude by saying that parents should have a perfect balance between being strict and being lenient so that children enjoy a good childhood, learn good morals and can support themselves independently in the future too. They shouldn't do overdo anything or else, it is their children who will suffer in the future.
