The cell is the basic structural and functional unit of the of the living organisms. The word cell is derived from the Latin word 'cellula' which means "a little room" . An English scientist Robert Hooke in 1665 discovered the name cells, while examining a thin slice of bottle cork under a primitive microscope.
A tissue is a group or collection of similar cells which work together to achieve a particular function and have common origin. Blood, pholem and muscles are the examples of tissues.
