What are fuels?

\color{blue}{ANSWER}

A fuel is any material that can be made to react with other substances so that it releases energy as heat energy or to be used for work

\color{red}{QUESTION~2}

Define ignition temperature.

\color{blue}{ANSWER}

The autoignition temperature or kindling point of a substance is the lowest temperature in which it spontaneously ignites in a normal atmosphere without an external source of ignition, such as a flame or spark. This temperature is required to supply the activation energy needed for combustion

What are the different stages of coal formation. Explain the first stage.

\color{blue}{ANSWER}

There are four stages in coal formation: peat, lignite, bituminous, and anthracite. The stage depends upon the conditions to which the plant remains are subjected after they were buried: the greater the pressure and heat, the higher the rank of coal.
