1 Most macromolecules are made from single subunits, or building blocks, called monomers. The monomers combine with each other using covalent bonds to form larger molecules known as polymers. In doing so, monomers release water molecules as byproducts.

2.A thermoplastic polymer can be repeatedly softened on heating and hardened on cooling. Hence, it can be used again and again. The examples are polythene, polypropylene, etc. A thermosetting polymer is a permanent setting polymer as it gets hardened and sets during moulding process and cannot be softened again
