Autotrophic nutrition

1) the organisms which make their own food from simple inorganic substances are called autotrophs.eg:most green plants,therefore; autotrophic nutrition is the process of nourishing,namely photosynthesis,that they adopt for growth and maintainence.

2) the raw materials which are required for preparation of food are oxygen and carbon dioxide.

3)chlorophyll and sunlight are essential for photosynthesis and thus nutrition to occur.

Heterotrophic nutrition

1) the organisms which cannot make their own food and are directly or indirectly depends on autotrophs are called heterotrophs,eg:animals and fungi.heterotrophic nutrition is the process of nourishing,namely by obtaining food from other organisms,for their own growth and maintainence.

2)heterotrophs are directly or indirectly depends on autotrophs.

3)chorophyll and sunlight is not required.
