Water gets contaminated by the following ways: (i) Many industries discharge harmful chemicals to rivers and streams. (ii) Water gets contaminated when sewage is disposed off in rivers. (iii) Pesticides, weedecides and other chemicals also dissolve in water and get contaminated.
