Question:-what changes do you observe in a galvanometer when the current in the solenoid coil is switched on or off?

Answer:- Current flows in the coil of the solenoid in the clockwise direction and the galvanometer shows deflection towards the left. If the solenoid coil is moved towards or away from the coil, we see a deflection in the Galvanometer (fig 4.16c) Also, the faster is the displacement of the solenoid.
