1) As he had seen the river Ganga since his childhood and in different seasons, it always reminded him of the Himalayas and its peaks and deep valleys. He regarded the river as a symbol of age-long culture and civilization of India and it reminder him the past of India rich and varied culture.
2) In winter the Ganga becomes a narrow stream and looks very graceful. During the monsoon it again turns into a roaring and vast river with something of the sea's power to destroy.
