1). ans:- a division of time equal to 24 hours and representing the average length of the period during which the earth makes one rotation on its axis. b. Also called solar day. a division of time equal to the time elapsed between two consecutive returns of the same terrestrial meridian to the sun.
2). ans :- Venus is the hottest planet even though Mercury is the closest planetto the Sun. The reason that Venus is hotter than Mercury is because it has an atmosphere made of carbon dioxide; it also has clouds of acid inside its atmosphere. This is calledgreenhouse effect.

2.the co2 gas traps most of the heat from the sun. the cloud layer also act as a blanket.the result is a gunaway greenhouse effect that has caused the planet temperature to soar to 465 degree celcius,hot enough to melt lead this meant that venus is hotter then mercury
