1:- It is true that Earth's orbit is not a perfect circle. It is a bit lop-sided. During part of the year, Earth is closer to the sun than at other times. However, in the Northern Hemisphere, we are having winter when Earth is closest to the sun and summer when it is farthest away!

2:- Different climates are caused by many factors, but the five most important ones are: latitude, elevation, currents, proximity to large bodies of water, and terrain. Latitude relates to how close you are to the Equator: as discussed, this has a big impact on where the climate zones are positioned.
