Answer: hey mate here is your answer

Explanation:

a)   when cholrine  gas is passed  through lime water  it, it is rapidly absorbed  forms bleaching powder or chloride of lime . the reaction is

Ca(OH )_{2} + Cl=

CAOCl_{2} + H_{2} 0

b) when bleaching powder  with dilute sulphuric acid  all  chlorine present in it is liberated  .this chlorine acts as bleaching agent

CaoCl_{2} + H_{2}SO_{4} =CaSO_{4} +Cl_{2} +H_{2} o
