1) Meristematic tissues are responsible for the primary and secondary growth of the plants whereas permanent tissue is responsible for various growths. Meristematic tissue has dense cytoplasm with prominent nucleus whereas permanent tissue has thin cytoplasm with normal nucleus.

2) Lateral meristem is responsible for increase in circumference i.e. girth of the stem or root of the plant. Answer: “Green gram seeds” is the living material which would you take for the demonstration of the meristematic tissue.
