A condition in which the blood doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells.

Anaemia results from a lack of red blood cells or dysfunctional red blood cells in the body. This leads to reduced oxygen flow to the body's organs.

Hemoglobin in blood carries oxygen from the lungs or gills to the rest of the body (i.e. the tissues). There it releases the oxygen to permit aerobic respiration to provide energy to power the functions of the organism in the process called metabolism.

Abnormal enlargement of the butterfly-shaped gland below the Adam's apple (thyroid).

A goitre commonly develops as a result of iodine deficiency or inflammation of the thyroid .
