combustion is a chemical process in which a substance burns or reacts with o2 n produces heat n light . it is an irrereversible change.

The substance which burns with the help of o2 is combustible substances. for e.g. coal , petroleum .

The minimum temperature at which a substance starts burning is called ignition temperature .

If a substance had low ignition temperature . it will easily start burning . e.g. phosphorous , kerosene . and these substances are called inflamable substances

By using water we can cut off fire on wood , paper etc

The 3 types of combustion are Rapid combustion , spontaneous combustion n explosion

combustion that occurs in a short span of time n produces a large amount of heat n light is rapid

combustion that occurs spontaneously on its own without any external heat is spontaneous combustion

combustion that suddenly occurs with a loud sound n produces large amount of heat is explosion

Flame is a place where burning of gases takes place

Blue zone
hottest part
outermost zone
complete combustion takes place
Blue flame with little light

yellow zone
moderately hot
middle zone
incomplete combustion
bright yellow flame n more light

black zone
innermost zone
least hot part
no combustion
black zone appears black

Fuel is a combustible substance that burns to produce heat for domestic or industrial use .
