In Russia, the Tsar was not subjected to a constitution, so the liberals along with social Democrats, worked with peasants and workers during the revolution. They were also supported by nationalists and jadidists. During the 1905 revolution, Tsar allowed the creation of the Duma. However he dismissed it withing 75 days and re-elected the 2nd one. This was done so that no one questioned or reduced his power. Liberals and revolutionaries were kept away from the Duma. At the First world war Tsar refused to seek help from the Duma and it's support became feeble. On 25th February 1917 the Tsar suspended the Duma.
It was said that Russia was the least industrialized of the European states at the time. Also, socialism came fairly late to Russia than anywhere else in Europe.
