HYPERMETROPIA
Hypermetropia is also known as farsightedness. A person with highway moto period can see distant objects clearly but cannot see nearby objects distinctly. The near point for the person is farther away from the normal near. Such a person has to keep a reading material much beyond 25 cm from the eye for comfortable reading.
Reasons:
This is because the light rays from a closed by object are focused at a point behind the retina. This defect arises because-
- the focal length of the eye lens is too long,or,
- the eyeball has became too small
Correction:
This defect can be corrected by using convex lens of appropriate power. Eyeglasses with converging lenses provide the additional focusing power required for forming the image on the retina.

- A person can see distant object clearly but not unable to see near object. In Hypermetropia near point of eye shift away from eyes.
- Cause of Hypermetropia
- Decrease the size of eye ball.
- Increase the focal length office eye lens.
- Correction of Hypermetropia
- Hypermetropia eye corrected by suitable of focal length of convex lense.
