Borazine is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula B3H6N3. In this cyclic compound, the three BH units and three NH units alternate. ... For this reason borazine is sometimes referred to as “inorganic benzene”. Like benzene, borazine is a colourless liquid.

Chemical formula: B3H6N3

Appearance: Colorless liquid

Magnetic susceptibility (χ): -49.6·10−6 cm3/mol

CAS Number: 6569-51-3

Good morning

Borazine is specially known as Inorganic benzene✌✌

Borazine Molecule - H3B3N3H3

Preparation:

Boron chloride is treated with Ammonium chloride in Chloro Benzene solvent to get B-trichloroborazine.

The chlorine atoms in B-trichloroborazine are replaced by Hydride ions to Get Borazine.

Chemical Equation:

                              chlorobenzene

3NH4Cl +3BCl3  ---------------------------> H3N3B3Cl3 + 9HCl

                                         THF

 H3N3B3Cl3  + 3LiBH4  ------------>H3B3N3H3 +3LiCL +3THFBH3

Properties of Borazine:

Borazine's structure is isoeelctronic with benzene.

Borazine is called as Inorganic Benzene because it has same structure like Benzene .

In Borazine , 6 carbon atoms of Benzene are replaced by Three B atoms and Three N atoms. There by total numbers of electrons in Borazine and Benzene is same

The structure is as Follows :

In Borazine molecule, nitrogen is more electro negative than the boron . Nitrogen acquires partial negative charge and boron acquires partial positive charge.

Even though Borazine and Benzene have same stricture their chemical properties are different.

--> Organic benzene is C6H6 while Inorganic benzene is Borazine having chemical formula B3N3H6

---> Borazine is more reactive than Benzene

----> borazine undergoes addition reactions compared to benzene.
