1. Nuclear fission is a reactionwherein a heavy nucleus is bombarded by neutrons and thus becomes unstable, which causes it to decompose into two nuclei with equivalent size and magnitude, with a great detachment of energyand the emission of two or three neutrons.
2. Major hazards of nuclear power generation: → storage and disposal of spent or used fuels: this is because theuranium used decays into harmful subatomic particles radiations which are harmful to health. Further there is risk of accidental leakage of nuclear radiation.
