Explanation:
Mitosis is a process of cell duplication, in which one cell divides into two genetically identical daughter cells. In the various stages of mitosis, the cell's chromosomes are copied and then distributed equally between the two new nuclei of the daughter cells.
There are four phases of mitosis. In the interphase, there is the duplication of the genetic material.
- The prophase is the first phase of mitosis, followed by metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
- The chromatin fibres start to condense in the early prophase forming the chromosomes.
- The nucleolus and the nuclear membrane disappears. There is the orientation of the centrioles in the opposite poles.
- The mitotic spindle formation starts in the late prophase.

Mitosis :
The chromosomes number of parent cell splits into two daughter cells is known as mitosis.
- For the growth of the cells, mitosis is essential.
- In mitosis, from a single parent cell two daughter cells are formed.
- It is the process of asexual reproduction.
Stages of the mitosis :
1) Interphase :
- Cell makes a copy of DNA during interphase.
2) Prophase :
- Duplicate genetic materials are seperated.
3) Metaphase :
- Genetic materials are condensed into chromosomes.
4) Anaphase :
- Replicated chromosomes are moved to the opposite pole.
5) Telophase :
- The duplicate genetic materials are seperated.
