~What are natural resources ?

→ Natural Resources : The type of resources which are all part of nature and can be used without making much modification . Nature has gifted us with plenty of natural resources like soil, air, water, forests, minerals and wildlife .

They can be classified on the basis of ::

  • Based on development ( Actual and Potential resources )
  • Based on Origin ( Biotic and Abiotic resources )  
  • Based on Utility ( Renewable and Non-renewable resources )
  • Based on Distribution ( Ubiquitous and Localized resources )

~Differences between inexhaustible and exhaustible resources.

→ Exhaustible Resources : Some resources which are available in limited quantities and take a very long time to form again , are called Exhaustible Resources.  

Example –

  • Coal and Petroleum

→ Inexhaustible Resources : The Resources which are available in plenty and take less time to form again are called inexhaustible resources.  

Example –

  • Water , Sunlight, Air

~What are importance of natural resources for us ?

→ Natural resources are very important for us .  

→ They can be either utilized in their raw form or can be used after modification of their original forms.

 

For example –

  • We get food from natural resources .  
  • The air we breathe in is also a resource .  
  • We use water for our domestic chores.  

→ All these examples mentioned above are necessary for human survival which shows how important natural resources are.
