Paddy crops require 90 - 120 days to be grown.
They are also called as the rice paddies.

Paddy is a kharif crop which is sown in rainy season. It requires lots of water for its growth.
During winter large amount of water is not available.
Hence due to unavailability of sufficient water and unfavourable climatic conditions paddy should not be grown in the winter season.
