Problem scoping is the method used by student designers to "find out" the issue they must address.

  • It is the first phase of an AI project cycle. Problems at this level of AI development will be found. It continues with brainstorming, creating, constructing, testing, and culminates with exhibiting or sharing work.
  • Designing, developing, or creating the project is done next, and testing comes last. The problem-definition stage of the design process includes problem scoping.
  • Further, it addresses -
  1. Who? - Indicates who the problem's stakeholders are and who is experiencing the difficulty.
  2. What? - Refers to the nature of the issue and how you become aware of it.
  3. Where? - It is connected to the problem's context, circumstance, or setting.
  4. Why? - Discusses the necessity to address the issue and the advantages to the stakeholders once it has been resolved.
