1.dilution of acid makes it less acidic i.e increases in the pH level towards 7 and dilution of base makes it less basic in nature i.e decreases the pH level towards 7

Explanation of 1st question:-

Adding water to an acid or base will change its pH. Water is mostly water molecules so adding water to an acid or base reduces the concentration of ions in the solution.

When an acidic solution is diluted with water the concentration of H+ ions decreases and the pH of the solution increases towards 7.

To make the pH change by 1, a tenfold dilution is required (eg adding 9 cm³ of water to 1 cm³ acid). The acid is becoming less acidic.

Similarly, when an alkali is diluted with water the concentration of OH- ions decreases. This causes the pH of the alkali to fall towards 7, making the solution less alkaline as more water is added.

2.it is filtered very hardly to use in food.and salt is also converted into powder as first it is in big rocks...it is obtained from sea water the process from which the salt can obtained is called evaporation.

Explanation of 2nd question

Sea water contains many salts mixed in it. One of them is common salt, when sea water is allowed to stand in shallow pits, water gets evaporated by sunlight and slowly turns into water vapor. In a few days, the water evaporates completely leaving behind the solid salts. Common salt is then obtained from this mixture of salts by further purification.

Hope it helps you Army!!
