Answer:
passion and love for that work
Passion and dedication
Ones that are very skilled at something tough that requires creativity, such as a highly skilled sportsperson, scientist, artist, musician, doctor, lawyer, company owner, etc., are the people I find most intriguing. By highly competent, I mean those who are significantly better than the average practitioner in their field and have remarkable desire, ability, and aptitude for their chosen profession.
People who aren't extremely talented at anything tend to grossly misjudge how difficult it is to master something to the degree that other experts deem acceptable, and as a result, they approach ideas and work in a shallow and superficial manner, prioritising money, which I find obnoxious.

The less proficient see their employment as a means to an end, but the highly skilled see their trade as a way of life. Money is a byproduct of the latter's pursuit of their passion, i.e. doing what they were born to do.
