The following are the reasons for India being a federal country

Division of powers:

The constitution divides the power of Central Government and state government into different list of subjects the three list of subject well as follows:

  • Union or central list
  • state list
  • concurent list.

Three Tier of system:

India we have three tier system of government i.e. union or Central Government, State Government and local self government.

Not equal powers to all administrative unions:

All states in India do not have identical powers.some States enjoy special status in Jammu and Kashmir has its own constitution and many provences of Indianconstitution are not applicable without permission of any state assembly.

Concept of both level of the government:

Under the Federal government the fundamental prevention cannot be unilaterally changed by any one level of the Government and the same is true for India. the Parliament cannot make its change with the structure of constitution.

in federalism the Judiciary plays an important role in overseas in the implementation of constitutional provinces and procedures.India High Court and Supreme Court play a vital role in case of any dispute.

Separate source of income:

A clear mention regarding the financial powers of Central and state has made in Indian constitution.
