1 ) The similarities of the first five given samples is that they all have mass or that can be measured by using a balance or a weighing scale.

2 ) Not all samples have measurable mass. Light and heat can not be measured. Light is energy and heat is energy in transit.

3 ) Yes, except heat and light. Because it all occupies space and has mass, except heat and light because heat and light is an energy.

4 ) Because smoke is made of soot, which is mostly fine particles of carbon mixed with air. since soot has mass (is made of matter), smoke has mass and it occupied space.

5 ) No, heat and light do not have mass. They do not occupy space because these are not matter. Heat is energy in transit and light is a form of energy.
