1) In India a tropical wet and dry climate is more common. Noticeably drier than areas with a tropical monsoon climate, it prevails over most of inland peninsular India except for a semi arid rain shadow east of the Western Ghats.

2) Natural factors

The climate changed during Earth's history. Ice ages alternating with warm periods provide an example. Some changes were worlwide, while others simply affected an area or a hemisphere. In addition, a number of natural factors contribute to modify the Earth's climate during various periods. It is important to understand these factors when seeking to detect the influence of humanity on the climate: Variations of the solar energy emissions. The quantity of energy emitted by the Sun is not constant. There are evidences revealing that the Earth's temperature corresponds to a solar cycle. Long term changes can occur. Modifications of the Earth's orbit. The orbit of the Earth around the Sun changes slowly. This influences the quantity of energy which is reflected and absorbed. It is thought that these variations of Earth's orbit are one of the factors that triggered the ice ages.

3) It is known as jet  stream- the higher level of the atmosphere experiences a different pattern of air calculation. It is dominated by westerly flow. Their speed is 184 km/h in winter and 110 km/h in summer . They are of two types  westerly jet stream and and easterly jet stream.

4) ENSO" refers to the El Niño/Southern Oscillation, the interaction between the atmosphere and ocean in the tropical Pacific that results in a somewhat periodic variation between between below-normal and above-normal sea surface temperatures and dry and wet conditions over the course of a few years.

The effect an El Nino has on India is probabilistic in nature. Statistically, there are 40% chances that an El Nino will result in a drought situation in India. It implies an El Nino doesn't necessarily result in a drought in India. For example in 1997, an El Nino year, India witnessed an above average rainfall and there are many other years in which an El Nino did not result in a drought in India. So, an El Nino in isolation cannot have a definitive effect on India.
