Ans 1. Afghans have elevated kite flying -- or "gudiparan bazi" -- to an art form, and one of its chief attractions is kite fighting.

To the first-time visitor, the skies above Kabul appear to be filled with fluttering birds or pieces of paper caught in the wind. A closer look reveals hundreds of brightly colored kites soaring high into the air.

The Taliban regime banned hobbies such as kite flying and bird keeping, in the belief that such pastimes were un-Islamic.

Ans 2. Every kite fighter has an assistant who holds the spool and feeds the line to the flyer. Because Hassan is Amir's servant, he is also Amir's kite-fighting assistant. When Amir succeeds in cutting his opponent's kite Hassan would run it down for him. This is a role that Hassan cheerfully accepts. Even in direct competition, such as a game of cards, Hassan would let Amir win. Despite understanding that Amir holds direct power over him (he says that he would eat dirt if Amir asked him to), Hassan has a genuine sense of loyalty and dignity that would be deeply hurt by Amir's misuse of power (thus he tests Amir's integrity by asking whether he would ever ask him to eat dirt).

Ans 3. When Amir said he didn't want to fly a kite, Hassan told him, "no monster," and convinced him to proceed. Amir and Hassan were a great team and theirs was one of the last two kites left in the sky. Their hands were bloodied from holding the sharp string, but their hearts were filled with hope of winning the tournament.

Ans 4. The favorite story of Amir and Hassan when they are young is "Rostam and Sohrab", from the Shahnamah, an epic of ancient Persia. ... He plays a trick on the unsuspecting Hassan one day by making up his own version of the tale, and Hassan likes it so much that Amir is encouraged to write a story of his own.

Ans 5. He wanted to prove that he is truly his faher's son.

Amir always thought that his father loved Hassan more and was desperate to get that love from him.

Answer:

1. The speciality of kite flying in Afghanistan was that this tournament was an old winter tradition. When the tournament started then it would last until it got the winning kite flying in the sky . Sometimes it would last daylight and all the people gathered on sidewalks and even on roofs to cheer up for their kids .
